Anna Sunshine

Triphylla hybrid cultivar Fuchsia ‘Anna Sunshine’ (De Cooker, 2012) is an upright growing fuchsia with single, pink flowers. Parentage is 'Strike The Viol' x ('Delicate White' x 'Stanley Cash'). It can be grown both as a standard or a bush and performs well also as an older plant. Because of its vigorous growth it should be pinched at least twice or, most preferably, three times. With its long, widespread sepals it always shows a ‘happy face’. From this, the fuchsia has obtained its name ‘Anna Sunshine’, named after the hybridizer’s wife Anna Sonja, who hardly ever is in a bad mood.

Elisabeth Honorine

Fuchsia 'Elisabeth Honorine' De Cooker, 1991) is the breeder's first Fuchsia introduction. Its parentage is 'La Campanella'x Unknown. The name refers to the Christian names of the breeder's mother Elisabeth Honorine van Leemput (1924 - 2012). It can be grown as a bush or semi-trailing plant. Tolerates sun, but best colour is obtained when protected from direct sunlight.

Frans Boers

Fuchsia ‘Frans Boers’ (De Cooker, 2015) is a cultivar originating from the crossing {‘Winter Charm’ x (Playboy x Unknown)} x {(Checkerboard x Machu Picchu) x (Checkerboard x Machu Picchu)}. It has large blooms with a dark rosy red corolla and a marked green belt on its tube.

‘Frans Boers’ is a vigorous grower and should be carefully pinched for obtaining a good shape. The plant tolerates sun. It is best grown as a semi-trailing bush or pillar. If grown from autumn cuttings and left unpinched, first blooms appear in a massive display around mid June.

Fuchsia ‘Frans Boers’ is named after the President of our local South Limburg Fuchsia Society ‘Limburgs Belleke’. Frans is an enthusiastic fuchsia lover and former Whippet dog breeder.

Hendrina Josephina

Fuchsia 'Hendrina Josephina' (De Cooker, 1992) comes from the crossing 'Checkerboard' x 'Grasmere', which is the same crossing that produced 'Roger Desiré'. These two introductions have been selected from over a hundred seedlings having this parentage.

'Hendrina Josephina' is a dwarf trailing fuchsia. It is named after the Christian names of the hybridist's mother in law Hendrina Josephina America († 2008).

Johannes Jan

Fuchsia ‘Johannes Jan’ (De Cooker, 1997) is a single, upright growing fuchsia with horizontal to upward looking flowers. It is named after the first two Christian names of the breeder’s father-in-law (†2007), and is one of the few original seedlings that have so far survived the years after introduction. Growth is rather slow, which makes it suitable also for small gardens. Fuchsia ‘Johannes Jan’ is self branching and can be grown as a small bush or a standard. Parentage is ((‘La Campanella’ x Unknown) x ‘Machu Picchu’) x ‘Bon Accorde’. Tube and sepals are white, the corolla has a pale blue/ purple colour. Flowering is profusely. Its deeply furrowed stem adds to its appeal.

‘Johannes Jan’ is moderately fertile, both as the male and female. Over the years, crossings have however never resulted in seedlings considered worthwhile for introduction.

Misha Charlotte

Fuchsia ‘Misha Charlotte’ (De Cooker, 2015) originates from the crossing( ‘Strike The Viol’ x ‘Delicate White’) x {('Checkerboard' x 'Machu Picchu') x ('Checkerboard' x 'Machu Picchu')}. It has been raised as a spin-off of the program for developing white Triphylla cultivars.

’Misha Charlotte’ is a relatively slow growing cultivar with very short internodes. Blooms are long lasting and have a pale pink to pink colour, depending on growth conditions. Flowering starts rather late in the season, around mid to late July. It can best be grown as a (semi-trailing) bush or small standard. It has a robust root system and tolerates sun. Overwintering is without any problems.

‘Misha Charlotte’ is named after the hybridist’s Grand Daughter who loves (as many Grand Daughters do) the colour pink.

Roger de Cooker

Fuchsia ‘Roger de Cooker’ (De Cooker, 1999) originates from the crossing

('Pangea' x ('Elsie Mitchell' x F.magellanica ‘Alba’)) x (('Checkerboard' x 'Machu Picchu') x ('Checkerboard' x 'Machu Picchu')).

This cultivar is named after the breeder's father Roger de Cooker (1921-2010).  It's a floriferously flowering triphylla-type Fuchsia with a long, bright white tube and pink corolla.

It can be grown as a bush or standard, both as an older plant or from cuttings.

Overwintering is without any problems.

Roger Desiré

Fuchsia ‘Roger Desiré ’ (De Cooker, 1992) originates from the crossing 'Checkerboard' x 'Grasmere'. The name refers to the first two Christian names of the breeder's father Roger Desiré de Cooker (1921-2010). It can best be grown as a trailing fuchsia. It tolerates heat and sun. Bothrytis sometimes occurs in early spring. Overwintering is without any problems.
